As Director of Volunteers, thank you for visiting the Volunteers department with Sac-Anime! Volunteering is a great experience in the work field and getting your foot into the convention world of staffing! If you have never tried it before, give it a try!!! On this page, you should find most questions and information needed including the rules, volunteer application and the liability form. I have been a continuing Director of Volunteers for many years and I strive to continue developing! “You work with me and I’ll work with you!” I look forward to working with all of you and please know that I am always available for any questions, concerns and suggestions you may have.

Volunteer Rules and Policy

Volunteer Applications are required 2 weeks prior to the convention. Once sent, if you do not receive a response within 48 hours, it is advised that you reconfirm the recipient e-mail address and resubmit. Schedules will be e-mailed to you 1 week prior to the show.

Liability Forms are required prior to starting any volunteer hours. If you are unable to present the form, you will not be able to volunteer until provided.

Must be able to provide a minimum of 4 hours per day (Friday-Sunday). Flexible scheduling is available, but is reviewed on a case-by-case basis only. Volunteering in more than 12 hours may be provided with perks once shifts are completed! If you are planning to enter into any Console Game Competitions, Table Card Gaming or the Cosplay Masquerade, please plan accordingly prior to sending your application.

Must be the minimum age of 16 and older. If you’re at the age of 16 or 17 at the time of the show, parental signature is mandatory on the liability waiver. (ID may be requested) before being able to volunteer. Please be aware that any shifts offered after 10:00 PM is available to volunteers age 18 and older only

Must be a registered and paid attendee. Refunds for registration will not provided until all hours agreed upon are completed.

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs. if needed.

Be mature, provide full respect and be available at all times to assist attendees as you are representing Sac-Anime.

Volunteer badge must be present at all times and returned at the end of each day. There will be zero tolerance for swapping badges. If you need to enter a staff restricted only area, please check with Director of Volunteers before doing so.

We do that ask that if you volunteer, that you must be open to work in areas/departments as they become available. If for any reason you need to leave, please contact Director of Volunteers prior to doing so.

* Cosplay is optional! All cosplays must abide by Sac-Anime’s policies and you must be able to work complete tasks as they come. If your costume can be easily damaged and/or is very valuable, it is not recommended that you wear it during volunteer hours.

It is requested that if you shop in the dealers room, please do so before or after you check-in to volunteer, otherwise you may asked to please leave your items in the hotel, car or with a friend. We will not hold any liability for any lost and/or stolen items.

Rules are subject to change without notification

Failure to comply with rules may result in removal of volunteer and refund will not be provided.
