TRADITIONAL AMATEUR ART CONTEST

NEW! You must submit your original work for our review (which you keep) along with a photocopy (which we keep and display).*

1. There are two age categories: 15 & Under and 16 & Over
2. One entry per person.
3. May be in B&W or Color
4. Submitted Photocopy Must be 8.5″ x 11″ in size
5. Must not be framed
6. Must be appropriate for all ages
7. Must be original artwork, not traced or copied from someone else’s work
8. Fanart is allowed, but must be of your own original composition
9. No digitally enhanced artwork
10. No Professionals (If you have had an Artist Alley table before you are considered a Professional)

All entries must be received by Saturday, at 12pm. Art Submissions should be brought to the Art Submission Table located in Artist Alley. (Artist Alley is at the Sacramento Convention Center located at the back of the Exhibitors Hall.) When you arrive, please follow the table instructions for preparing your submission. Winners will be announced Saturday at 4pm at the Art Submission Table.

*We’re requiring photocopied submissions for our Amateur Art Contest for two important reasons. The first is security. Your original artwork is irreplaceable. SacAnime doesn’t want to take the chance that something might happen to it while in our care. The second reason is that we would like to display your work throughout the entire length of the convention, not just until the winners are announced on Saturday afternoon. Once the convention is over, we will shred all photo copied entries. If you need a photocopy of your original while attending the convention, there is a Fedex Office only a block away from the Sacramento Convention Center. Color copies are .59 each.

DIGITAL ART CONTEST

1. Entries must be created on a computer. (You may work from the scan of an original pencil sketch, but the final entry MUST be inked/colored in a digital imaging program such as Adobe Photoshop.)
2. One entry per person.
3. Entries may be B&W or color, although color is preferred.
4. Entries MUST be original work. Any art that is copied or stolen from another source will be disqualified.
5. Fan Art is allowed.
6. Entries must be accompanied by a scanned copy of your original pencil sketch. This will prove that it is your work, and not downloaded from someone else’s website.
7. Submissions must be suitable for all ages.
8. Submissions must be 8″ x 10″ or 10″ x 8″ canvas at 300 ppi/dpi, in JPG or PDF format.

Please be sure to include your full name (First and Last) in your email. Upon request, we can use a pseudonym (nickname) or “First Name, Last Initial” (example: “Lauren B.”) for the website. If you are under 18 years of age, we will automatically omit your last name for privacy reasons.
